About Me

I started my love for travel later in life after all of my self-imposed obligations were satisfied/accomplished. I got married, raised a child who loves me and divorced a man who still likes me.

As a 55+ woman, I only travel solo. With a ticket in my hand and a backpack on my back, I’m ready to go anywhere. I move with the flow of the world and I’m never disappointed with where I am.

Hostel Mom was a name given to me by one of the younger travelers I met in Panama. While, a few of us sat around a table she said I was old enough to be her mom. “You’re kinda like my hostel mom,” she said. The name stuck as I’m always a mom for anyone who wants or needs one along the way.

While my bags may be light, my heart is filled with patience, kindness and acceptance. I have learned you don’t need much more to receive the same from our world and its people.
